Q2: Visualisation diagrams will need to be completed of the characters in the video game. Evaluate how useful the visualisation diagram might be to the planning process for the video game.

P1 A visualisation diagram allows other people within your team to understand the requirements of how the character should look as its a detailed diagram. For instance, this diagram will outline the look for the characters within the game and often comes in conjunction with a set of detailed annotations to explain what each element is and why it has been chosen. Interestingly, the diagram will clearly show the game developer/ designer what the key requirements for the characters within the game are and therefore allow the developer to create this character in the correct way. Significantly, this benefits the overall app as it will allow the character to come out the best way possible for the target audience. The target audience for this game is families and therefore it will be beneficial for the characters to be diverse and inclusive as parents will feel this is a value they want their kids to see.
P2 On the other hand, the visualisation diagram doesn't include body language or movements for the character and therefore might make it difficult for people to understand. The brief tells us that the game will be played online and via consoles so the diagram must include how the characters will move and how this may differ between mediums. It can be difficult to develop movements within characters across the different platforms as these two platforms can differ in display and the way the game is controlled. Interestingly, the target audience would need to be able to access the game on both platforms and therefore a prototype of the game might be a better document to display the requirements for this character element of the brief.

  1. Your first paragraph is excellent in your disadvantage paragraph, be clear that movements and body language can be drawn but not seen and this is why a prototype is better. That would make it a good answer
